Exclusively Education.
Nothing Else.

Everything we do is focused on one sector: UK education. We've been working with schools, colleges and Multi-Academy Trusts since 2011, and that's all we do. No commercial clients. No distractions. Just a deep understanding of the challenges schools face and the technology decisions they need to get right.

We've now supported over 1,500 schools and more than 80 MATs across the country. Whether you're a school business manager at a small primary or a COO overseeing a trust of 20 academies, the advice you get from us is always honest, always independent, and always based on what's right for your school.

Education is All We Know

We work exclusively in the UK education sector. Every conversation, every audit, every procurement project draws on 14 years of experience working with schools and trusts, and nothing else.

Connected Across the Sector

We have active relationships with school business leader groups, school support organisations and Local Authorities across the UK. When a recommendation comes through one of those networks, it's usually because someone's seen the results first-hand.

The Bigger Picture

Secondary Schools

Secondary schools come with a bigger footprint. More staff, more devices, more demands on connectivity, and often an IT manager who already has a full plate.

We work well in that environment. Whether we're running a technology audit alongside an existing IT manager, supporting the school business manager with a procurement project, or helping the senior leadership team think through a longer-term digital strategy, we fit into the structure that's already there.

Secondary schools also tend to be further along in some areas — cloud migrations, more complex infrastructure, multiple suppliers across different contracts. We're experienced in handling that complexity, and we know how to present options clearly to governors and senior teams when approval is needed.

Trusts & Central Teams

Multi-Academy Trusts

Working with a MAT is a different kind of engagement. Projects take longer. More stakeholders are involved. And the scale of the decisions — and the compliance requirements around them — is significantly higher.

We're comfortable in that environment. Our typical MAT contacts include COOs, CFOs, IT Directors and trust-level procurement managers. We understand how decisions get made at trust level, and we know how to build the right documentation to support a project through the governance process.

For MATs, centralising contracts across multiple schools can deliver meaningful cost savings and operational benefits. We help trusts identify where that's possible, plan the project properly, and run the procurement in line with UK procurement law, including awareness of the £215,000 threshold that triggers more formal tender requirements.

We currently support over 80 MATs across England, ranging from small two-school trusts to large multi-site organisations with dozens of academies.

Our Networks

Connected Across the Education Sector

A large part of the trust schools place in us comes through recommendation. School business managers talk to each other. They share what's worked at local SBM forums, regional networks and national events. When someone has saved thousands on their phone system or finally got their broadband procurement sorted, they tend to tell their colleagues.

We have well-established relationships with school business leader groups across the UK, partnerships with organisations that support schools, and connections with a number of Local Authorities. We attend and present at education events, and we're well known within the networks where school decision-makers spend their time.

Those relationships matter because they're built on results. The schools in our network have seen what independent advice looks like in practice, and they recommend us because it worked.

TGE Solutions are always very friendly and professional; all the way through the process of writing a detailed tender on our behalf, to overseeing the installation of a full and modern new phone system. We are really glad we decided to work with Phil and the team, we never had any problems at all and everything was explained and documented clearly. We used to get frustrated with our old phones and phone lines but now everything has been upgraded, updated and our costs have been reduced. Thanks TGE Solutions!

Got Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you only work with state schools?
No. The majority of schools we work with are local authority maintained schools, academy trusts or single academies. But we do work with independent and private schools too. The services are identical. The advice is always independent. A private school with a better budget still deserves honest guidance on what it’s actually getting for its money.
Do you work with colleges?

Yes. While our primary focus is schools and Multi-Academy Trusts, we do work with colleges. If you’re in further education and have questions about technology audits, procurement support or connectivity, it’s worth getting in touch to discuss whether we can help.

Who in a school usually gets in touch with you?
Most of the time, it’s the school business manager. They’re the ones managing the contracts, the budgets and the day-to-day operational decisions. In secondary schools, it’s sometimes the IT manager or a senior leader. In Multi-Academy Trusts, we typically work with the COO, CFO or a central IT lead. Whoever you are, if technology decisions are part of your role, we’re probably the right people to speak to.
We're a small primary. Is there enough value in it for us?

Almost certainly, yes. The savings we find at primary level regularly exceed the cost of the audit itself. We see it again and again. Schools that are confident they’re on decent contracts often find we can identify £3,000, £5,000 or more in annual savings they didn’t know were there. It’s worth a conversation before you assume it won’t stack up.

Do you cover the whole of the UK?

We work with schools across England primarily, which is where DfE standards and the relevant procurement legislation applies. If you’re outside England and want to know whether we can help with your situation, just get in touch and we’ll be straightforward with you about what we can offer.

Is the audit suitable for MATs as well as individual schools?
Yes. For multi-academy trusts, we audit each school individually, then look across the trust as a whole to identify where contracts can be aligned and costs reduced trust-wide.
How much does the audit cost?
The audit is low-cost relative to the savings most schools find. Get in touch, and we’ll give you a clear figure with no obligation.
How do schools usually find you?
Most commonly through recommendation. A school business manager mentions us at a local forum. A trust that’s worked with us refers a contact. We also present at education events and work through regional SBM networks and school support organisations. If you’ve been pointed in our direction, there’s usually a good reason for it.
